Blog post #6

I have really enjoyed the blogging experience. I like the concept of being able to share my opinions and experiences for others to learn from them. I have also enjoyed the process of decorating my blog. However, one thing that I have not been loving is the website Blogger. There are not as many resources for decorating my blogs as I would like to,  but it is a good option for getting started.  During this process, I have learned that having a blog is a great way to express what we know about our topics of interest, and by sharing these ideas, we can find others who have similar interests.
I had never considered how practical generative AI can be for teachers. I was surprised to see that Chat GPT can create worksheets in a format ready to download and print out. In order to get a properly detailed lesson plan, I went back and forth with the chat multiple times to add my feedback and specify what type of information I wanted the chat to add. I noticed that by using this strategy, it was easier to get a lesson plan generated that was tailored to my preferences, compared to if I had just written one prompt. This strategy was so effective that I would definitely apply it the next time I use this AI tool.
Generative AI can be used in multiple ways to help teachers. As a teacher, I would use AI to create functional learning plans that address my students’ needs. In addition, I would teach my students how to ethically use AI. For example, by teaching them how to use AI tools to brainstorm or as grammar check tools. In addition, the best way to address the ethical concerns is to build trusting relationships with my students and to make sure they understand that multiple tools can properly detect when AI is being used for the wrong purposes.
